As I was wafting though the websites came across a link http://doright.in/ which talks about a story. This Half Story is about helping Raghurajpur – the artist village, to get online and make their art accessible to the world. Hence, after contemplating I decided to share my experience about doing right.

Not all are affluent, not everyone is chimed with luxury and three meals a day, it is not necessary that everyone is nestled on their couch with having a sound sleep. We live in a selfish word where we do not even have time for our loved ones. Well without lambasting the hard working people I would say, it might be the case that we are bound to priority and responsibility, but we may not be selfish. However, at times we do observe that there are angels on earth who not only take care of their loved ones but also help the poor and the needy people. Let me tell you there are very few unadulterated souls.

I am associated with a Biking Club named as Xkmph, which has been raised from a town named Siliguri.  We are as a family ride together to different locations and explore. However, our objective is to not only explore places and enjoy the adventure but we also take out time to serve the society by creating awareness and helping the needy people as and whenever possible. We are  riders who meet up , plan and go for a ride , and explore new destinations .Since most of them are working professionals we don’t get to meet the entire group at once. Having said that organizing something big depends on the availability therefore, we choose dates where we can expect 90% attendance, for example we participated in a rally on 15th August 2013 where we created awareness and promotions on points like 1) Stop Gender biased Violence,2) Give Woman Due Respect 3) Obey traffic rules 4)Respect Riders 5)Lets Ride together . Hence involving in such activity is what we have cultured from past three years and we did not stop we are continuing to do so.

This was the first ride with Xkmph for me  as I was able to join them , Since I was very new to this club I was not aware of such initiative taken up by them, there were numerous activity in the past which I was not aware of , but I am proud to say that I have joined people who are superintend in various activities , have a subtle approach with their priority and are available to support the cause initiated by the club.

1st January 2014, I am sure 90% of the world was enjoying and celebrating, wishing each other Happy New Year, everyone seemed affluent, enjoying, and we know how exciting these get together are. Everyone was in a celebration mood and wanted to start the year on a happy note, I even read a tweet on my timeline stating “I WILL BE ENTERING NEW YEAR ON A “HIGH” NOTE”,  I am sure you know what he meant . Well” Xkmph “had some other plans. We believed in smiling by making others smile. Hence, we created an event on facebook , I would request you to visit the link and dissect (https://www.facebook.com/events/382584308552548/) .We named the event as “Ride To Help The Poor Fight Cold(SILIGURI EPISODE) “ this was scheduled for Wednesday, 1 January 2014 , we requested our club members to donate clothes and fixed a date to collect them, it was decided that the collection will start from 26th Dec and will end on 29th Dec . We wanted to start the year with a very noble cause, And instead of felicitation to each other for the new year , we decided we will facilitate the poor who did not have proper clothes to sustain the cold weather , the guttersnipe who begs for bread, having said that we organized a ride and this was not a ride for exploring places, not for adventure, this is was a ride for people who are not aware of a NEW YEAR EVE celebration , for people who could not afford 2 meals a day ,  for those who are not fortunate enough to grab a blanket to keep themselves warm during winter, for those who sleep under the lights of the moon and the stars , not that they enjoy but they are forced to , like it or not they have to .Hence this was a ride for people whom we see every day but act nonchalant .

Collecting clothes, sorting it out , it was fun, trust me . I am sure each member felt blessed when they were involved in this activity. There were few funny incidents where we found a bill inside a pocket while sorting, We were a handful of people and did it reasonably well , Since we had decided to do something for the society we did with a lot of alacrity. And we are devious about future with stratagem regarding the same. Hence, we would like to do this in other cities as well, this will give us an opportunity to not only explore but also do something for the society. In future, we may plan a ride to a destination with a similar objective and we would make it a culture in our Xkmph family. Hence, it will not only unite riders, but we will also enjoy the ride and return with some blessings to emblazon “Xkmph” with gratification. Allow me to quote “Charity begins at home, but should not end there.” -Thomas Fuller , going with the idiosyncrasy of the quote we have started charity at our home town and as stated it will not end here , we would be lured to do serve the society with vitality.  Since we ride on two wheels we can reach places where even four wheels cannot reach, and we will utilize that advantage sanguinely. In addition, I believe that these blessings are even visible in a silhouette and we feel contented having done something which most of us hesitate

  2. „We believed in smiling by making others smile“
I think this statement strikes the core of the article at its best. And HOW you brought others to smile!
Not only the poor who fought against the cold weather and for whom you organised and to whom you gifted warm clothes – you bring also a smile on the face of the readers of this article by opening their hearts and at best also their eyes to do something for the poor and needy people too.
The way how you described which kind of activities Xkmph has done already and especially how you organised and undertook the New Year’s Event is remarkable and admirable!
I deeply bow to your engagement and dedication!
I don’t want to talk too much about the spelling style of the article, that won’t be indicated if the noble cause – and isn’t really necessary yet. It’s wonderfully written, with filed sentences and well placed words.
Thank you for this touching story – I hold you and your club Xkmph in high regard the way how you implement charity!
May there become more people like you and follow your path.
